As the Brexit negotiations on withdrawal, transition and the future relationship declaration enter the final stages, significant uncertainty persists and multiple paths seem to lie ahead, including hard Brexit, no-deal Brexit and no Brexit. Even if a deal is reached, it may not survive the UK parliament and a general election or people’s vote referendum could follow – but time is short. Germany and the other EU members have their own priorities, such as protecting the single market, but they also face domestic political pressures. This event will offer German and Scottish perspectives on the Brexit endgame and what it will mean for Scotland, the UK, Germany and the rest of Europe.
